Using Compost in Landscape and Regeneration: The Olympic Park

The Institute of Professional Soil Scientists (IPSS) and WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) are hosting an important FREE training event on the use of quality compost in landscape and regeneration. The event takes place at the Olympic Park, Stratford, London and can be counted towards IPSS members' CPD.
Attendees will be introduced to the WRAP Good Practice Guide for the use of BSI PAS 100 Compost in Landscape and Regeneration. We will present the ecological, environmental and commercial benefits of on-site topsoil manufacture using site available materials, quality compost and other imported materials. The creation of the Olympic Park will provide the case study and a visit to the site has been arranged immediately prior to the presentations. Details of the event are as follows:

Location: Olympic Park Tour: Meet at Pudding Mill Lane, Stratford, East London - Arrive by no later than 12.40 p.m. for the Olympic Park tour at 1 p.m. The tour coach will not wait for you so please arrive in plenty of time. There is nowhere to park so please arrive by public transport. Directions from Pudding Mill Lane DLR: Exit the station and follow the blue signs directing you to the Olympic Park South Plaza entrance (the designated walking route). Walk directly ahead from the station, past the offices and lay-by on your right until you reach the pedestrian crossing. Turn left and cross the road safely using the pedestrian crossing. The orange accreditation centre is on your right hand side. Please ensure that you remain on the pavement at all times where possible and use the pedestrian crossings to avoid construction traffic. All attendees to the Olympic Park MUST bring photographic ID (passport or UK photo driving licence). Anyone without correct ID will not be able to access the Olympic Park.

Directions from Pudding Mill Lane DLR: Exit station and turn immediately left; Go down short flight of steps and cross the road; Follow the blue hoardings round to the left; Go up the tarmac ramp/path to the Greenway.
