Find an Expert

Soil is at the very heart of many landscaping and land regeneration projects, and plantings succeed or fail by the condition of the soil materials in which they are placed.  In a recent survey of landscape contractors only 5% were regularly satisfied with the condition of the soils they were required to plant into, citing poor quality topsoil and compaction as the main reasons for plant failure.

The IPSS Find and Expert Service provides a search facility where landscape and urban regeneration professionals can seek out the expertise they require from a large database of consulting members.  They can provide assistance in:

  • Soil audits of development and regeneration sites
  • Assessing topsoil quality according to BS3882:2007
  • Using soil substitutes and ameliorants, and manufacture of topsoil
  • Preparing soil for sowing and planting
  • Investigating soil factors in failing landscapes
  • Helping to resolve soil quality disputes
